Forbes magazine pegged Tulsi Tanti as the eighth richest Indian in the world. His company, Suzlon, went from being an unknown entity to world-famous in October last year, when it listed on the Indian bourses. It’s now the world’s largest wind energy company in terms of market capitalisation. Tanti's interest with wind energy dates back to the early ‘90s, when he was looking for an affordable source of power for his polyester yarn business in Gujarat.
