BP commits half a billion on biofuel research
by Tyler on Thu 01 Feb 2007 11:36 PM EST | Permanent Link | CosmosOil giant BP has awarded $500 million (U.S.) to the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign toward the creation of the Energy Biosciences Institute,which initially will focus its research on biotechnology to produce biofuels out of everything from corn and field waste to switchgrass and algae.
